ToeNail (born 1989) is an American Dancer, Singer, Producer, Actor, and professional BMX rider who is best known for his hit single "I Got My Fungus Back" from the album Of Mice and Men. He has also appeared in various music videos and television shows.

In 2016 ToeNail released his first EP called "The Fungus Among Us" ToeNail is currently signed to Fecal Spring Records.

Early life

ToeNail was born in the town of Poughkeepsie, New York on October 31, 1989. He began his career as a professional dancer, performing in various music videos and stage productions.

In 2010, Toenail made his acting debut in the film Step Up 3D. He has since gone on to appear in a number of films and television series, including The Blacklist, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Toenail has appeared on 20 television shows and movies, including six episodes of Seinfeld and "Mad About You," "Seinfeld," "Will & Grace," "Everybody Loves Raymond," "Married With Children," and "The King of Queens."

He has also appeared in over 100 commercials. In 2008 Toenail started his own production company, Toenail Productions Inc. in New York City and is the Executive Producer of the short film, "The Unsettled." Toenail has a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Oregon and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing from California State University, Long Beach. He is also a member of Alpha Chi Epsilon fraternity. Toenail is currently residing in Brooklyn, New York and is represented by Nancey Leigh Agency, in New York City, and Jill London at Jill London Management in Los Angeles.

Toenail has also been featured on the reality TV series, "My Super Sweet 16."

Career

In 2011, ToeNail released his debut single "I Got My Fungus Back" from the album Of Mice and Men. The song became a viral hit, with over 10 million views on YouTube.

In 2012, ToeNail appeared in the music video for the song "We Can't Stop" by Miley Cyrus.

In 2013, ToeNail had a role in the film The Last Exorcism Part II.

In 2014, ToeNail appeared in the film Step Up: All In.

In 2015, ToeNail appeared in the film Magic Mike XXL.

In 2016, ToeNail released his first EP called "The Fungus Among Us".

In 2018, ToeNail appeared in the film A Star Is Born.

In 2022, ToeNail appeared on Skeleton Realm LIVE!

Some of Toenail's other projects include recording "Bargain Bin “ for the Microsoft X-Box game "Project Gotham Racing 2," composing the score for the short film "The Unsettled," and performing the lead role in the short film "The Unsettled" and he wrote, produced and directed the short film "The Unsettled." Toenail has hosted rock shows on Radio Disney and he has produced, hosted and directed his own popular online talk show "The Toe Show."

Musical Work

As a musician Toenail has released two solo albums, "Quick Fix" and "Blood Type." He has also released three solo albums with his band The Friendly Cannibals. Toenail's 5th album and first jazz album "Jazz, Blues & Ballads" is currently in the works and will be released 2014. Toenail has toured with "The Celibate Rifles" and "The Blondes" and was the lead singer of The Friendly Cannibals. Currently he is the singer, bassist and keyboardist of the jazz-rock band "Big Soul." Toenail has written, produced and directed the following music videos "Not a Thing," "How's My Baby," "Who's Your Daddy," "Bargain Bin," "Baby Doll," "Chasing Rainbows," "Junkie Girl," "No More Secrets," "Silver Lining," "The Devil's Walk," "The Untold," "The Unsettled," "When I Die," "One Way Ride" and "I Won't Quit."

BMX

Toenail has been a professional athlete. In 1997 Toenail was ranked #1 in the world in professional childrens BMX racing. He was also ranked #1 in the United States Professional children's BMX Association in 1995 and 1996 and he won the National Championship in 1996.

Philanthropy

Toenail has been a part of many different charities, fundraisers and relief efforts including working with Habitat for Humanity, Greenpeace, Red Cross, UNICEF, Food Bank of New York City, Wounded Warriors, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, American Red Cross Disaster Relief, Animal Humane Society, Autism Speaks, The Autism Society, Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, Covenant House, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, SPCALA, Toys for Tots, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Alzheimer's Association, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Lung Association, American Stroke Association, World Vision, and many more.

Toenail has served on the board for the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, United Cerebral Palsy, Autism Speaks, and the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund.

Controversy

In 2008 Toenail was accused of assaulting a photographer.

In 2009 Toenail was arrested for disorderly conduct after an argument with his girlfriend. The charges were later dropped.

In 2010 Toenail was arrested for assault after an altercation with a cab driver. The charges were later dropped.

Toenail has also been convicted of petty theft and driving under the influence.
