Davies are Realmers who join the Skeleton Realm "Realmer" community by way of viewing Desktop Dave footage posted on the Skeleton Realm YouTube channel. The initial Desktop Dave video, titled "Working From Home With Desktop Dave | FULL GUIDE TO LOCATING CARMICHAEL'S CRYSTALS 2020," depicted a hacking event orchestrated by Desktop Dave, and is currently the most popular video on the Skeleton Realm YouTube channel.

Etymology

The concept of a "Realmer wave" was introduced on Skeleton Realm LIVE!: Episode #45, in a segment dedicated to addressing the recent influxes of Realmers. The video in question was identified among the first instances of Realmer influx, dating back to July 4th, 2020. The name "Davies" is in reference to one of the more memorable subjects of the video, Desktop Dave, who single-handedly hacks the narrator hardcore style in a narratively compelling format. The video attracted the attention of many users on YouTube and was received well by audiences.

Controversy

Example of a Dave Lap. (Artists Re-Creation, not real)

Many Davies enter the Skeleton Realm discord abruptly, often times chanting and repeating some of Dave's instructions from the original video or aspects of his fictional game, used to lure users into hacking hell. It is unclear often times whether Davies support or condemn Dave's behavior. This makes them confusing and hard to understand. Davies have a hardcore desire to perform "Dave Laps" inside the Skeleton Realm Discord and then promptly disappear forever. A so called "Dave Lap" occurs when a brand new Davie first enters the discord, then either quotes the original Desktop Dave video or makes a reference to something found within it, then remains silent forever after. Davie's lighthearted and often jovial treatment of the severity of Desktop Dave's behavior and documented crimes is seen as insensitive and offensive to many.
