Jorm's Motel Hunters Paradise Vacation Adventure is a MeMoreTV series, in which the host or hosts review establishments which provide accommodation for paying guests. The focus of the idea has developed drastically over time, with the pilot, under the name of "Motel Hunters", emphasising the gathering and analysis of data on motels, and later episodes shifting to reviewing luxury hotels, as the show was given to Jorm Tracey. The pilot episode was produced by the co-hosts of Skeleton Realm LIVE!, Doug Bleichner and Sam Wagstaff, published on 12th July 2023 on the Skeleton Realm YouTube channel.[1].

Pilot Episode

Format

Doug briefing Sam in the headquarters

The show comprises two main settings: the shop, in which Doug is involved in a hardcore DIY manual labour style, and the outside world, which is where the road and the titular motels are located. The cycle of the show is as follows:

Doug banging his wood hardcore in the shop
  1. Doug briefs Sam on the target motel and gives him directions to reach it
  2. Sam drives to the motel
  3. Sam returns to the shop to share the data he gathered.
  4. Sam receives feedback on his performance.

Along with Doug and Sam, Trashimage, BofaDeez and Bowen G. filled the role of executive producers.

Hotel O

Brief

Pelican Snoballs

The first target was Hotel O, also referred to as "Hotel Circle", located in Jamesboro in Morrow of I-75 near the Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International Airport, on Tara Boulevard. Doug describes Tara Boulevard as a "classic" boulevard. Hotel O is one of the most difficult motels to locate on earth.[2] Notably, the motel is almost directly across from Pelican's Snoballs.[3]

Investigation

The first investigation was largely unsuccessful, but shed some light on the kind of world Sam was now involved in. Sam was refused permission to film at Hotel O, and the manager had fled to Europe just before he arrived. Doug informed Sam that this could be used as a learning experience, because "expert hunters know that a snag in the road like this is useful, and that they can learn and ultimately become better hunters after a snag like this."

This is supported by the fact that 99% of hotels and motels do not share their data.[4] This is because many hotels and motels are owned by shadowy elites who seek to hide in the shadows, and therefore do not want to share some of the specs and dimensions of their hotel or motel.

Home 1 Extended Stay

Brief

Sam presenting his findings at Home 1

The second motel was Extended Stay, Home 1 edition. It is a 1-star motel located 8240 Tara Boulevard in Jonesboro, Georgia. Doug highlighted that the motel had a particularly interesting aspect, but refrained from revealing it to Sam in order to test his abilities as an expert Motel Hunter.

Initial Investigation

Sam summarised Home 1 as a "Home Run". According to his findings, it was perhaps the most popular motel on Tara Boulevard, established in 1998. Fortunately, it was not run by shadowy elites, and thus Sam was granted full access to the "behind-the-scenes" outside the motel. However, Sam did not find the special feature, and so Doug sent him back. He told Sam that a motel that has a bus stop outside was a rarity, and thus an expert Motel Hunter should have made note of it.

Secondary Investigation

Having headed back, Sam investigated the bus stop outside the motel, thoroughly measuring its dimensions.

Controversy

However, Doug revealed he knew from the beginning that Home 1 was not the motel for them, but he wanted the measurements of the bus stop. Another fact that he had kept hidden from Sam was that the show wasn't just about finding a motel that fit their needs, but also finding the motel that suits the viewers' needs a'swell.

Abandoned Motel

Brief

Abandoned Motel

The next motel would be a vacant, abandoned motel, part of a darker side of the motel industry. However, this would not be the only test of Sam's skill: Slingfest Atlanta 2023 was taking place at the time of Sam's investigation, which meant that the I-75 was clogged up and Sam could be delayed nasty style. Doug made very clear that Sam was not to waste time taking a detour to Slingfest - not because whips should not to be enjoyed, but because the motel hunting mission was not to be held up.

The abandoned motel was located on Tara Boulevard, right behind Club Fever Lounge.

Investigation

"Not all motels have happy endings." This quote framed Sam's discussion of the abandoned motel, which did not have a happy ending, as the quote, which hinted at the fact that the motel did not in fact have a happy ending, suggested.

Slingfest

Slingfest Atlanta 2023 featured a wide range of highly-steezed three-wheeled whips. According to Slingfest Atlanta 2023 staff member Popcorn, they offered the opportunity to test drive whips for free, and there were food trucks, games and competitions to match.

According to one Slingshotter, "The Bobcat", the personalisation of the whips is what makes them so interesting. Slingshotters will always be happy to stop and talk about their whip.

Because Sam went to Slingfest, Doug was hardcore enraged and scolded Sam for wasting time. This led to a rift between the presenters, and an argument ensued. According to Doug, he had been waiting 3 hours for Sam to return. He was not happy. He was angry.[5]

However, Sam quelled Doug's rage by reminding him that he would have done the same in his position.

Controversy

According to Popcorn, Slingshot owners do not require a motorcycle license.[6][7] However, The Bobcat disagreed, saying they need both motorcycle insurance and a motorcycle license.[8]

Doug did not consider this relevant.[9]

Budget Inn

Brief

Doug spraying and busting in the shop.

Despite the debate between Doug and Sam, Doug was willing to forgive Sam and move onto the next motel. The Budget Inn was located on Tara Boulevard, 6880, Jonesboro, Georgia. Because of his failure to avoid Slingfest, Sam knew he would be in big trouble if he messed this one up.

Initial Investigation

Sam reporting outside Budget Inn

Sam described this historic motel as a "real treasure." Established in 1952, Budget Inn has had a "long journey in the world of motels." The manager had no problem with Sam filming outside the motel, but said that he could not film within his room. Foolishly, the manager did not realise that Sam was not a customer, and let slip to the Motel Hunting expert that something sinister may be contained within. Doug was pleased with this information, seeing that it could be the motel they were looking for. He sent Sam back to gather more data.

Secondary Brief

Doug relentlessly pounding on his wood in the shop

This time, Sam was sent with a specific goal: to determine the stats and specs of the unusual parking spaces on the northern edge of the motel.

Secondary Investigation

Sam's investigation revealed that the motel attempted to attract truckers, requiring bigger spots to fit their trucks into. This information, together with the measurements he gathered, pleased Doug. However, there was even more data to be found.

Tertiary Brief

Doug noticed an interesting pipe system at the motel, right on the side of the building. He told Sam to park in the southwesternmost spot, near the sign, walk over to the pipe system and to get all the data on it.

Tertiary Investigation

Sam gathering data on the pipes. Measurement apparatus not shown.

Sam parked in the northwesternmost of the normal parking spaces, before going to plot out the pipes with measuring apparatus with great precision to yield a maximum quantity of data for Doug to enjoy. He measured the pipes "sideway, up-down and all the way to ground". In addition to this, he found a faucet.

Initial Controversy

However, Doug had been deceitful once again, revealing that he did in fact have the pipe stats thanks to a drawing in his possession. He was just using Sam to confirm what he already knew.

Quaternary Brief

Doug sent him back a fourth time, this time to gather data on the parking things that sit at the end of a parking spot to stop a car from moving forward, elongated gorb style. It goes in front of the parking spot. It's a piece of concrete or rubber material that sits right at the end of the parking spot.

Secondary Controversy

Doug's description confused Sam. He didn't understand why a parking spot would have a gorb to stop cars if parking spots are for cars. According to the narrator, Doug was attempting to described a wheel stop, but Sam thought he was trying to describe a bollard. This was an ultimate test of trust: Sam would have to believe that Doug's needs and desires were relevant to the Motel Hunter's job.

Quaternary Investigation

Sam measuring the wheel stop

Sam once again used a tape-styled measuring device to determine the exact parameters of the "gorb" (wheel stop) in the parking space. His trust in Doug had paid off. He sent the stats to Doug via email before heading back.

Tertiary Controversy

Doug had held back this information a'swell. He already had the stats on the "gorb", and had only sent Sam to gather data to confirm what he already knew, but he really did not have any need whatsoever for Sam to do this.

Analysis

Doug's analysis of the data revealed some shocking results: In 1952, the building of Hotel O was constructed by P.D. Stuntman. In the same year, the building of the Budget Inn was also constructed by Stuntman's brother, Davis Stuntman.Their grandfather, Racer Stuntman, invented the Model III tri-wheeled motorvehicle in 1914, after which he was assassinated hardcore, and the schematics for this vehicle were lost to match. In the 1970s Hotel O and the Budget Inn were purchased by shadow elites. Thanks to the epic employee of Budget Inn, Sam was able to obtain valuable information despite the manager's sick and twisted nature. In 2014, exactly 100 years afer Stuntman's invention was completed, the Slingshot was released to the public.

However, Doug and Sam decided to prioritise their own safety, and did not pursue this investigation further.

Transfer of Legal Ownership

In Skeleton Realm LIVE! episode 65, Doug realed that Jorm Tracey would be taking over production of Motel Hunters after the success of the pilot.[10] Doug and Sam found out that the sound asset symbol-swell-dark_myt_hvv_.mp3, a sound which featured heavily in the pilot, was the property of Max Tracey and was considered a Foundational Media Element. As a result, the show legally belonged to Max Tracey, and Doug and Sam were no longer able to sell it to MeMoreTV.

This came with a radical shift in the approach of the show, and the name being updated to "Jorm's Motel Hunters Paradise Vacation Adventure."[11] Instead of a Motel style, this show featured Jorm visiting various expensive luxury resorts across the world. This led to outrage from the producers of the pilot, who considered this a step too far from the show's origins. Moreover, they took issue with the nasty style seen in the footage, such as Jorm's dirty smell naked body spread out in a sauna. Doug described this as "disgusting."[12]
